Banana Split Pie

How many times do you get to say "I will take a slice of that banana split?!"

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup graham crackers
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 2 bananas, sliced
  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream
  • 8 oz whipped cream
  • 12-15 maraschino cherries
  • 3 tbs crushed walnuts for garnish (if desired)

Directions

In a bowl, mix graham crackers, sugar, and butter until moistened through. Empty contents into a 9" pie pan and press along the bottom and up the sides. Let this refrigerate for 20 minutes before filling. Pour chocolate chips and cream into a sauce pan and heat over medium heat while whisking until smooth. Pour 3/4 of the chocolate into your pie crust and spread around. Press 1/3 of your banana slices into chocolate and refrigerate until chocolate has hardened Empty ice cream into a large bowl and let sit until ice cream starts to soften. Blend until spreadable, but still frozen. Scoop ice cream into pie crust and spread to edges. Top this layer with 1/3 of your bananas. Scoop whipped cream onto pie and spread to edges. Top with cherries and the rest of your bananas. Spoon remaining chocolate mixture over pie and sprinkle with nuts. Freeze until firm and slice yourself some heaven!
Tip: Use a really sturdy pie pan, because you will need to use a sharp knife to get this bad boy out!
