- 2 tbs butter
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1 tbs corn starch
- 1 lb bing cherries, pitted and stemmed (defrosted if you use frozen)
- 3/4 cup brandy
- french vanilla ice cream
- dark chocolate bar at room temperature
Melt butter over medium high heat in large pan. Add in sugar and stir. Add most of your orange juice, reserving a little to add to your corn starch. Mix your corn starch with small amount of orange juice, and once it dissolves, add it to your pan. Add your cherries and let cook for 3-5 minutes.
Have a fire extinguisher handy and CAREFULLY add in your brandy. It may light itself on fire by being added to the heat. If not, light it on fire with a long handled lighter or match. Again, be careful!
(We added more for entertainment purposes, but 3/4 cup should be plenty).
Serve over ice cream, and for extra flair, sprinkle with chocolate shavings by shaving your chocolate bar with a vegetable peeler.
