  • 2 ¼ cups milk
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 3 tsp instant coffee
  • 6 large eggs
  • tbs vanilla
  • dash salt
  • 1 large soft french loaf, or about 8 cups bread, torn
  • cooking spray
  • 1 ¼ cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup Khalua
  • 2 tbs cornstarch
  • 2 tbs water

Put your milk, brown sugar, and coffee into a sauce pan and stir. Put over medium heat, stirring occasionally just until everything is dissolved. If it got hot, set aside until touchable. In a large bowl, beat eggs with vanilla and salt. Add your brown sugar mixture very slowly once cool enough not to cook the eggs. Add in your bread and toss until bread is fully moistened. Let set for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 350. Spray a 8x8 or 9x9 pan with cooking spray and add half your bread mixture, spreading to cover the bottom. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and cover with the rest of the bread mixture. Let bake for 45 minutes.

For Kaluah cream sauce, add heavy cream, sugar, and Khalua into medium sauce pan. Bring to very light simmer, watching CAREFULLY, because you are cooking alcohol, which means if it overflows, you will set a fire! That is very easily remedied by paying attention.... Anyhoo... Once this is to a light simmer, mix your corn starch and water in a small bowl, then pour this into your sauce. Stir over medium heat until it is your desired thickness.

When your bread pudding is done, cut yourself a piece and ladle cream sauce over each piece just as it is served. It is ridiculously delicious!
